Bryan White

Six #1 hits on the Billboard country charts

Bryan White was born in 1974 in Lawton, Oklahoma, into a musical family—his mother Anita was a successful singer and his father was musically talented. He received his first guitar at age two and learned to play drums at five, using his skills in the Putnam City West High School band and exploring art, music and the outdoors. Inspired at age 14 by the music of Steve Wariner, White decided to pursue a career in country music. In October 1992, just five months after graduating from Putnam City West, he moved with his family to Nashville. He performed with the band Pearl River, befriended songwriter Billy Joe Walker Jr. and producer Kyle Lehning, and signed his first recording contract with Asylum Records in 1994. White went on to score six No. 1 hits on the Billboard country charts. He collaborated with Shania Twain on “From This Moment” from her record‑breaking album ‘Come On Over’, and his own hits—such as “Love Is the Right Place” and “One Small Miracle”—made him one of the major country success stories of the 1990s. White also wrote songs recorded by artists including Wynonna Judd, LeAnn Rimes, Sawyer Brown and Diamond Rio. His distinctive voice earned him honours like the Country Music Association’s Horizon Award, the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Male Vocalist Award and a Grammy, and he appeared on national television programs such as ‘The Tonight Show’, ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’, NBC’s ‘Today’, and CBS’s ‘This Morning’. People Magazine even named him one of their ’50 Most Beautiful People’.
