A left-handed pitcher, Andrew Heaney starred for Putnam City High School’s baseball team before going on to Oklahoma State University and being drafted in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft. He has pitched for multiple Major League clubs, including the Marlins, Angels, Yankees, Dodgers, Rangers, and Pirates, and was part of the Texas Rangers’ 2023 World Series championship team, giving Putnam City a direct connection to a modern MLB title run.
